LEAGUE RULES
Teams
- Each team will be scheduled in advance for a 30/40 minute session during a two-hour window.
- Teams consist of 4 players.
- Only 4 players can shoot.
- If you have fewer than 4 players, one player must shoot twice. Teams may bring alternate or guest shooters in the event that a regular teammate is unable to make a meet. Players can join a team regardless of age or gender (For example, parents can compete with kids as teammates or teams can be all adults).
- While one teammate is shooting other teammates must rebound, pass, or keep score. No one can be a shooter only, or their makes will not count towards the individual or team total.
Shooting
- Each team will be scheduled for 30/40 minutes to shoot 400 shots.
- When competing, each player must shoot 100 consecutive shots, 20 from each spot.
Scoring
- Bringing a fifth person to be your team scorekeeper is optional but encouraged. If you do not bring a scorekeeper, you must keep track out loud and write down the score after each of the five spots. One rebounder should count attempts, one should count makes and score should be written down after each spot.
- League will track individual makes and percentages to the thousandth’s decimal
- If a shooter does not have enough time to complete their 100 shots, their percentage counts for overall percentage points, but they keep the total makes. Example, Player 5 makes 42 out of 95 attempts after their teams made 175 out of 400 attempts. The total team score is 217 out of 500 = 43.4%. The individual player records 42 makes out of 95 attempts = 44.21%.
- Recognition will go to most individual makes, best individual percentage, most team makes, and best team percentage, and best overall shooting percentage by location. For example, the South Irvine Club will collectively compete against the Orange Club and Long Beach Club. In the event of a percentage tie, recognition will go the higher attempts. If attempts and percentage are the same, there will be shoot off to determine leader.
